TRIAD Senior Academy
Outreach once again hosted the Triad Senior Academy on August 9, 16, and 23. Since this is written to be included in the utility bills, you still have a chance to attend the final day of the Academy. Subjects that day are Advantages of Planning your Funeral and Financial Frauds. Both of these topics are very beneficial to seniors and always answer lots of questions attendees have.
Also at each session you have a chance to win one of many door prizes given away and of course we also offer refreshments. There will be a special reward on the final day for attending the Academy.
Times for the Academy are 9:30 to 11:30 am. We hope to see you there. You do not have to pre-register, just show up ready to gain some valuable information and enjoy some refreshments.
Make it Take it – Book Folding
Outreach will be having a make-it-take-it day on Sept 8 at 9:00 am. This will be a fun time and participants will learn the art of book folding. What is book folding you ask? With book folding you fold pages of a book to make a 3-D picture. I am assured that it is not difficult so come join me and learn how to fold pages. These make great gifts and conversation pieces when people see them.
To reserve your spot call Sharon at 309-928-9400. You will need to bring a ruler with centimeter markings on it and of course a book. The book needs to be 22 centimeters tall (hardback works best) and have at least 300 pages. Oh, and you need a pencil. So, all you crafty and not so crafty people out there come join the fun.

They offer some pretty awesome pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, and potato salad. Doors open at 11am for you to shop the vendors that are here to show off their wares and enjoy your lunch and visit as you get ready for some great Bingo. Winners receive Longaberger Baskets and we have some pretty awesome baskets this year so mark your calendar now so you won’t forget. More reminders and information will be in future newsletters.
