Members of the Farmer City Police Department will be leaders in initiating and maintaining positive relationships with the residents, schools, businesses, and other members of our community. Department Overview
The Farmer City Police Department serves a community of approximately 2,300 people. On occasion, this department is tasked with additional visitors to the community for sporting events, recreational activities, and school functions. The department is staffed by four full-time officers and three part-time officers, to include a School Resource Officer for the Blue Ridge School District.
Farmer City is located on the northeast corner of DeWitt County, Illinois. Our community is located adjacent to McLean County – two miles north of the city limits, and Piatt County – one mile east of the city limits. Additionally, DeWitt County and Farmer City are located in the Illinois State Police District Six region. The Farmer City Police Department is often called upon to assist the police departments of Leroy, and Mansfield, along with the Sheriff’s departments of DeWitt, Piatt, and McLean County. Our agency also provides assistance to District Six and District Ten of the Illinois State Police.
The Farmer City Police Department prides itself in providing services with professionalism and integrity. We will continue to review the needs of the community and modify our performance standards to address community needs. This agency strives to accommodate the Small Town Policing, however understands that criminals do not restrict activity based on the size of the community. Our officers work diligently to maintain their knowledge and skills to address situations that may arise.
