AMENDING ORDINANCE 893
CHAPTER 32: PERSONNEL RESOLUTIONS AND POLICIES
WHEREAS, The City’s personnel code governs the employment, hiring and working conditions and benefits of the City’s employees and,
WHEREAS, the City strives to maintain personnel procedures in compliance with Federal and State laws, and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the mayor and city council of the City of Farmer City, Illinois that:
SECTION 1. The following paragraphs shall be added to Chapter 32: Personnel Resolutions and Policies
32.018 – Licensing Requirements
All employees classified as full-time, part-time and seasonal shall possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
A. At any time an employee has their driving privileges suspended, revoked or cancelled by the State of Illinois, that employee shall immediately report that action and cause of such suspension to the immediate supervisor and city manager
B. The City will give the employee reasonable time to re-establish a valid status. The City shall determine the timeliness of reasonable, based upon conditions surrounding the offense.
C. Any employee can be terminated for not possessing a valid driver’s license at the appropriate classification as determined by the city and State of Illinois
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form.
