Save the Date
June 9, 2018 is this year’s free bulk waste curbside pick up! Area Disposal will be picking up any large or bulky items you leave on the curb, up to 6 cubic yards. “6 cubic yards equates to approximately the volume you can pack get into an 8’x4’ bed of a pickup truck. For example, you can get a couch, a decent size chair, an old desk and a box-spring/mattress in a pickup truck bed.
They cannot pick up the following: Tires, Paint, Batteries, Appliances, Yard Waste, Hazardous materials (oil, gas etc.), E-waste/Electronics, or concrete
Loose Material must be bundled into less than 5’ in length and weigh less than 50 pounds per bundle.
The 50-pound limit is for bundled material or single items one man would lift on site. We understand that two men are needed to lift a couch or entertainment center. And we will have two men crews at each stop.
But loose items like clothing need to be bagged and easy to lift.
As a general rule, the bulky item cleanup is meant to get rid of items that will not fit in your cart during regular weekly pickup. Old couches, chairs, entertainment centers, mattresses are the typical items we expect to see at the curb.
Please place your items on your curb or at the end of your driveway before 6 am!
Waste Update
Now that we are 2 weeks into the new residential waste and recycling service, we are hopeful we are getting the “bugs” out and its becoming smoother. Here are some items of note to remember as the weeks progress:
Totes should be placed at the curb or end of your driveway, with the lid opening facing the street
Totes should also be placed on the address or front door side of your street
Pickup begins at 6 am on Thursdays (Recycling every other Thursday – see calendar on other side) – you cannot leave your totes on the curb for more than 48 hours
Thank you again as we work together to make this a successful program! Please feel free to call City Hall at (309) 928-3412 with questions or concerns!”

You would meet with the student one on one for a half hour twice a week or one hour once a week (depending on age). If you think this is something you would be interested call 309-928-9400.
