With temperatures dropping into the teens, the City would like remind residents of our Frozen Pipe Policy.
Frozen water lines from the B-box to the home are the responsibility of the homeowner. During regular business hours, if your pipe freezes, call the Water Department and you will be billed a $150 flat fee for assistance. Outside of regular hours, the fee will be billed for time worked at overtime rates.
During extended bitter cold temperatures, you may consider running your water at a slow drip to keep the water line from freezing over. Please read the attached policy for more information or call (309) 928-3412. Thank you!
