The City of Farmer City recognizes the difficult economic times our businesses have faced due to the coronavirus and Governor’s orders to close. The City Council adopted a Small Business Grant program for immediate financial assistance from the Business District fund (or General Fund in certain cases) to help our businesses bridge the gap until they get back on their feet.
The following guidelines and application are being sent to our small businesses for a grant, not loan, of monies to be used for mortgage/rent, utilities or building improvements. There are 3 levels, depending on the impact faced as an essential or non-essential business.
If you did not receive an email from the City and you want to see if you’d be eligible for assistance, please complete the attached application and return to City Hall. We have streamlined the process whereby the City Manager and Mayor only will review the applications for approval so there will be little delay.
Please read the complete guidelines and feel free to contact Sue McLaughlin, City Manager, at 309-928-3412 with questions or concerns. Thank you!
