Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions:
When will service start? Thursday, May 3, 2018
How much will I be charged per month? You will be charged $14.75/month, or $13.27/month for seniors and disabled, directly on your utility bill. You will pay for the service along with your payment for water, sewer and electric.
How do I get a senior citizen discount? You will need to apply at City Hall and provide proof of age or disability. You must be 65 years of age or older or be receiving SSI.
Where will Area pick up my garbage? Your garbage should be picked up in the same location as is currently. However, if you have unusual circumstances, Area will work with you to find a solution.
Area will be providing contact information for detailed questions on the postcard. Or feel free to contact City Hall at (309) 928-3412. Thank you!!
Farmer City Police
Please help the City address ordinance violations, such as illegal burning, by contacting the Farmer City Police Department at (309) 928-2111. They will address these violations based on personal observation and citizen complaints. In the case of leaf burning, with the wind and depending on the size of the fire, it can be nearly impossible to locate individual fires amongst 1,100 residences.
The Police Department will continue to identify ordinance violations such as nuisance properties, excessive weeds and abandoned vehicles, to name a few. We seek the community’s cooperation in addressing these matters. Please call the non-emergency number to report violations; we will not release your name. Again, that number is (309) 928-2111.
Thank you for helping us keep Farmer City safe and clean!
Farmer City Camp Grounds
Campgrounds reopened March 1.
We will also be looking for volunteers to help keep the sites trimmed up and mowed again this year.
We keep mowers at the campground shed along with fuel.
Let Scott know if you would like to take a site or two, mowing a site takes about 5 minutes.
The campgrounds will be closed Fri., April 20 @ 7a until Sat., April 21 @ 1p . We will post it on the board at the camp grounds a few days in advance.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
